Body rhythms

By purerlife

I keep talking about how much more aware I am becoming of the rhythms of life, and its affects on my body. The lunar cycle has me hooked, and the more I read the more I understand how much I have lost touch with nature, with our pursuit of a careers, technology, and our fast paced lives.

Living at the pace we do, we miss so much, and then we wonder why we often feel the way we do, thinking that we just have to continually work through it all, and of course many of us have little choice but to do that. But we are missing so much that happens around us, and the actual affects it has on our bodies.

We all have our own rhythm, most of us know that we are either morning or evening people, but we try and fit it into a general 9-5 working pattern, a generalised eating pattern of breakfast, lunch and dinnner, but is this dictated pattern of living suiting your personal body rhythm?

We all know of the days when some foods that you eat all the time and enjoy, can on some days tend to just sit in your stomach making you feel heavy, could this be because when the moon is in its waxing period? During this period any food we eat tends to be for strengthening the body, and we tend to put on weight as it is absorbed more easily. During the waning period it can be that no matter how much you eat on these days, you just don’t put on any weight, that is because you are in the cleansing, detoxification period. I think women more than men will probably notice weight gain at certain times of the month, and try and do something about it, but it is a natural phenomenon that happens and is meant to happen to us! I can relate to this and now I understand far more this cycle I am finding that my daily food and working choices are falling far more in line and suiting my body far more. In fact the simpler I live, and eat, the less I am finding things fluctuate, due to the lessening of stress, and poor food choices. One of the things I have been reading about is having a day long fast on a full and new moon, and this is something I think I am going to try and see if that makes a difference as well now.
